Becoming the Version I Used to Dream About

A little life update, some gratitude, and a funny story from Taiwan.

Hey friends, long time no talk :)

It feels like I only write when things are falling apart… maybe because struggles make better stories lol.

But this time, things are actually falling into place.

Business is picking up. A few client videos went viral. I’m making money.
I’m talking to brands about sponsorships (!!!).
And I just dropped my first big brand collaboration.
Go check it out—or I’ll eat you.
Jk. (But seriously, go watch it).

Sometimes I think about that girl who was panicking in June and just want to tell her,
“See? You made it. You’re slowly turning into the version of you that you used to dream about.”

I also went on a short family trip recently and wanted to share something fun.
We visited a small town in Taiwan called Lukang, which literally means “Deer Port.”

(Apparently, the name came from its deerskin trade during the Dutch period. Shoutout to Wikipedia because I definitely didn’t know that before 😂).

Lukang, Changhua County, Taiwan.

There’s this famous little alley called Breast Touching Alley.
Yup, that’s its real name.
It’s so narrow that when a man and a woman walk through at the same time, they might accidentally bump chests.

Breast Touching Alley is a 100-meter-long fire lane with less than 70 cm at the narrowest point. The local residents built the houses close together to block the strong sea wind.

Do you have any buildings or hidden corners where you live that carry funny or beautiful stories like that? I’d love to hear about them :)

Until next time,

Sammie 💛
