Starting Over in Taiwan

I swore I’d never move back. And yet...

I knew life had changed when I stopped hearing English.

No more morning trains across the city. Now it’s me, sweating on my scooter under the Taiwan sun. The English voices are gone, replaced with the familiar rhythm of Mandarin.

Every detail points to one thing: my new life has begun.

Jiufen, Taiwan. (The town that inspired Spirited Away)

This is my first time living with my parents in years. When I left home at 19, I swore I’d never move back. I wanted independence, freedom, to build a life that was entirely mine. So it feels ironic to be back here now.

But this time, it’s different. I came back with a purpose: my creative dream. The one thing that makes me feel most alive.

That doesn’t mean I have it figured out. Far from it. I’m still fumbling, still doubting, still learning what stories I want to tell and how I want to tell them. But I know this is my path. That’s why I journal, why I meditate. Every day is about getting to know myself more deeply.

This week, I filmed a vlog about my new life here in Taiwan! My routines, the side hustles I take on to support this dream, the struggles of being a creator, and what I’ve learned building a community to 20K on Instagram within 10 days.

If you’re going through a transition or navigating big changes, I hope this video brings you some comfort. You’re not alone ❤️
